LPS Families,
\r\nIf you are a parent of a 2023-24 PreK student that would be attending Carriage Hills, Lincoln, Pioneer Park, Sullivan Village, and Whittier elementary schools , we want to share important information and changes for the upcoming school year. With our recent acquisition of the former Armed Services YMCA now known as New Horizons Learning Center located at 900 NW Cache Rd, the following sites Carriage Hills, Lincoln, Pioneer Park, Sullivan Village, and Whittier elementary schools have been selected as the PreK sites to transition to New Horizons.
\r\nThis will allow a better collaboration for our PreK teachers and students. New Horizons will house the district’s second early childhood center where teachers and staff are dedicated to fostering the “whole child” to ensure that children are healthy, safe, engaged and supported. We recognize that young children do not learn in the same manner as older children. At New Horizons they will continue to focus on the whole child, to include social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and developmental growth.
\r\nUpon completion of your child’s PreK year, they will be automatically enrolled back to our building. To best serve our families, we also have a survey for you to fill out in regards to Transportation and Extended Day services. Please scan the QR code below or click the link to complete.
\r\nEnrollment will open on Monday, April 3.
\r\nTo begin the enrollment process, please visit the www.lawtonps.org website and select “Enroll Today.” When asked what school your child will be attending, please select your neighborhood school for the home school. This will ensure we pre-enroll your child back to their home school at the end of the school year.\r\n
