Grace Cho, a 2024 Eisenhower High School graduate, has been named one of 625 semifinalists in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The semifinalists were selected from more than 6,000 candidates from U.S. high schools this year.
The program, now in its 60th year, is one of the highest honors bestowed upon graduating seniors. Scholars are selected based on their accomplishments in several areas, including academic and artistic success, accomplishment in career and technical fields, leadership, strong character and involvement in school and the community.
“I feel very proud to represent Lawton and Eisenhower High School,” Cho said. “I also feel gratitude toward my family, teachers, and friends for supporting me.”
In addition, Cho was also named an Oklahoma Foundation of Excellence Academic All-State honoree and a QuestBridge Scholar, a scholarship program that provides students with a full-ride opportunity at a distinguished university. Cho will attend Northwestern University, near Chicago, later this year.
“I know that not many people get these types of opportunities, so one of my biggest motivations is wanting to make the most of them,” she said. “I also know that my hard work will be worth it later.”
She plans on majoring in biomedical engineering and hopes to work in the medical research field.
